The Director of Business Development – Located in MA
Is responsible for developing, identifying and assessing new business opportunities to achieve revenue generation and growth objectives. The BD Director's primary function will be wining new DoD business. A keen understanding of the customer, the competition and the customer's procurement process, funding capabilities, priorities and requirements are essential to the success of this position. The BD Director will be responsible for responding quickly and effectively to all customer requests for information and prioritize follow on level of effort. Additionally, the BD Director will coordinate and manage trade shows, technical briefings and customer visits.
Responsibilities:
Develops, coordinates and implements marketing plans and strategies designed to retain and grow existing business and to identify and capture new opportunities.
Provides strategic marketing and operations planning toward the company`s business goals.
Develops proposals to support the known and potential requirements of customers.
Align company growth initiatives with customer market segment. Identifies and researches various upcoming opportunities to determine the company`s competitive posture.
Oversees the identification and development of on-going relationships with key customers to seize potential opportunities in domestic and international markets.
Participates in the development of creative price to win strategies to improve competitive posture and capture new business opportunities.
Participates in the assessment of company capabilities and assists in the development of near, mid, and long-term business plans and marketing philosophies.
Participates in the identification of resources (human, financial, contracting) required to capture opportunities.
Participates in proposal development process to ensure implementation of marketing strategies.
Develops nurtures and maintains relationships with Prime Contractors and key Team Member Subcontractors in the joint pursuit of selective business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor`s degree in Business Management, Administration, Engineering, or related field, and at least 10 years of program related experience.
Strong program/project management skills.
Solid understanding of government procurement, DoD contracts, regulations and procedures.
Working knowledge of DoD Practices and Standards.
Demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in developing successful strategies for business growth.
Ability to assess the business opportunities presented.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills.
