General Summary - (Anchorage Coalition Health)
This role is in a dynamic family practice health office with a high volume of both walk-in and appointment based clients. This position is responsible for supporting providers in delivering quality health care to patients. Provides support in the delivery of the company's core values. Must have clinical competence for the designated area(s) and have a solid understanding of overall day to day operations of service area, equipment, and patient flow/triage. Phlebotomist will assist in ensuring the delivery of excellent quality, customer focused services, continuous improvement and maximize the efficiency and development of the employees and organization.

Verify records of patient, conduct interviews, take vitals.
Draws blood, performs screening rests and reports results.
Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services as directed by a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or Clinical Services Director.
Interview patient to determine medical problem(s)/condition(s) and document in chart for provider.
Provide support to the operations of the clinic by maintaining medical equipment, keeping exam rooms properly supplied and ready for patients, maintaining office inventory and purchasing supplies as necessary.
Interact with patients and other physician offices to assist with follow up, scheduling, questions, etc.
Perform Medical Records functions on Electronic Medical Record system, such as filing and maintenance of patient records.
Comply with the regulatory agency rules and regulations to assure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Demonstrate ability to multi-task and serve as a technical resource.
Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to handle and implement change with minimal disruption.
Ensure that standards of care are met and procedures are followed.
Maintain professional conduct and work practices that support the organization's philosophy, objectives, and goals.

Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
Work conditions are such that significant time will be spent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, assisting with positioning patients, and include some lifting. Exposure to anesthetic gases, blood and body fluids, sharps, and other health care occupational hazards is routine. Conditions will include exposure to hospital grade cleaning solutions, flammable solutions and gases, e.g., alcohol and oxygen, as well as latex and other industrial chemicals.
