Under the general supervision of the AVP Marketing, the Public Relations Officer leads the Credit Unions public relations strategy and manages the social media communities of the Credit Union. Works in partnership with local and trade media, organizations, and non-profits to advocate and build awareness for the Credit Union.

Builds and maintains relationships with key media partners and continuously grows the positive reputation of the Credit Union.
Coordinates press conferences, open days, media interviews with executives, company VIP visits, and community projects.
Works with internal and external stakeholders to understand, shape, and implement a cross-collaborative organic social marketing and public relations strategy.
Coordinates and manages the strategy and budget for CoastHills sponsorships. This includes coordination with organizations, development, and production of advertising opportunities and attending community events.
Manages social media campaigns and day to day interactive activities, including all desired social media sites. Duties will include delivering content, community outreach, blog posts, and other outreach efforts.
Responds to comments on social media posts. Monitors inboxes and [LOGIN BELOW TO APPLY] mentions to address consumer questions and concerns.
Relays feedback to relevant internal stakeholders when necessary.
Develops and implements strategy to improve online reputation on sites such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook.
Responsible for editorial planning, daily management, and performance tracking across all the Credit Union’s social properties, both existing and to-be-developed.
Uses analytics to measure follower engagement and outreach.
Writes copy for and edits press releases, publications and other Credit Union information ensuring style consistency and accuracy.
Writes captions and copy to complement media and capture brand voice.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience
Bachelors’ degree in journalism, public relations, social media marketing or related fields.
One to three years’ experience in social media, with an emphasis on corporate social media strategy and day-to-day management of multiple social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogs.
Experience working with the press and managing communications.
Skilled in public speaking; able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and externally with vendors, media, and the public. Develops a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
Excellent writing skills.
Expertise in multiple social media platforms.
Strong graphic design and desktop publishing skills.
Strong photography and video skills, including editing.
Excellent organizational skills.
Other Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Travels, attends, and participates in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.
