Description
Candidates must have education or background experience with electronics troubleshooting on various systems. Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and line drawings. Experience with automation, radio communications equipment, RADAR, and navigation systems particularly valuable. In addition to electronics maintenance and repair, job responsibilities include limited client and server computer support, email configuration, good organizational skills, and radio communications.

Motivated individuals with a resume that reflects a background in the skillset required, will be provided with additional resources and assistance in obtaining the required documentation, although no financial aid is available from ARA.

Requirements for Registration on American Radio Association Assignment List
1. USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with the following endorsements: Radio Officer (or Electro Technical Officer) within 18 months of registration, GMDSS Operator, VPDSD, STCW Basic Training.
2. FCC GMDSS Operator’s License.
3. FCC GMDSS Maintainer’s License.
4. FCC Ship’s Radar Endorsement.
5. Valid STCW Medical certificate.
6. TWIC – Transportation Worker Identification Card.
7. Valid U.S. Passport (citizenship required).
8. DOT Drug Free Certificate currently valid (preferably issued by ARA Plans Drug Testing Program).
9. Employment resume for the past 5 years. With emphasis on electronics and information technology.
