Position Overview: (Major Functions and Non-Essential Functions):
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operate, maintain, repair and diagnose building infrastructure systems and equipment along with portable equipment.
Examples include HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, electrical, gas, air, vacuum, plumbing, building automation, fire detection/suppression, grounds maintenance, and building electronic systems.
Complete Preventive Maintenance per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline ensuring regulatory compliance.
The Preventative Maintenance duties may include belt replacement, lubrication, filter changing, and pressure washing inside of air handling equipment. Respond, investigate and solve all emergency and repair calls received.
Communicate well with others and thoroughly document activities using our work order system.
Communication with on call maintenance staff as necessary.
May be required to work with others in planning and scheduling for modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption to the mission of our organization while meeting fiscal constraints. Is alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicates concern to appropriate personnel.
On-call rotation may be required.
Maximum response times for on-call determined per campus location.
May be required to work weekends.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possesses excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients.
Building Maintenance Technicians who meet the requirements of a Senior Maintenance Technician will be expected to accept promotion into a Senior Maintenance Technician role.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: (Education Requirements and Experience):
Associates degree or a two-year degree from a technical college related to a Building Infrastructure System maintenance program. Four years of military experience in a related field will be considered in lieu of the educational and field service experience requirements.
Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: (Has Achieved Competency in the Following Areas, Job Knowledge and Additional Considerations):
Preferred: Experience working with Computers and various building control systems. Experience related to the skills associated with building infrastructure systems.
Licensure/Certification Required:
A Driver's License is required upon hire. A Minnesota Special Engineer Boilers License is required within 90 days of hire. An ASSE 6040 Certificate is required within 12 months of hire. A Minnesota 2nd class C Boiler License required within 2 years of hire.
