Basic Functions:
Functions as the UH-60M Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) in coordination with Production Control (PC) Manager. T
he Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) shall be responsible for performing Maintenance Test Flights (MTF), Maintenance Operational Checks (MOC), conducting in-flight troubleshooting and verification of aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
The MTP will perform general or limited test flights IAW TM 1-1500-328-23, operate the aircraft IAW the appropriate operator’s manual, checklists (-CL and –
MTF) and within the standards prescribed in the Aircrew Training Manual or FMS equivalent.
The MTP shall complete all required maintenance forms, records, and logbook entries.
The MTP shall calculate required weight, balance, and performance data. Ensures all related operations are conducted in a safe manner.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures MTFs and MOCs are planned and coordinated with assigned PC Managers, host nation commanders, copilot, and other company pilots. Responsible for maintenance test flight preparation;
performance planning, briefing, and approvals. Establishes daily maintenance test flight goals with PC and other MTPs.
Serves as a mission briefing officer (MBO). Aircraft recovery missions, as needed.
Technical Inspector (safe-for-flight release authority) IAW DA Pam 738-751 and AR 95-20.
Attends the daily maintenance meeting for coordination of maintenance activities requiring MTP support.
Files required risk assessments, mission approval requests, and flight plans with appropriate agencies.
Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART). Supports aircraft delivery operations when new aircraft are received.
Reports to the Division Deputy Manager (Maintenance). Coordinates daily efforts with PC Manager.
Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and
responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: As assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred: Advanced degree or equivalent.
Training Certifications:
Required: Graduate of the US Army UH-60M MTP course or Directorate of Evaluations and Standards (DES) equivalent.
Preferred: Maintenance Examiner in UH-60M.
Experience:
Required: Five (5) years’ experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot in UH-60 series and two (2) years’ as UH-60M MTP.
Required: Meet the requirements of AR 95-20.
Preferred: Ten (10) years’ experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot in UH-60 series and five (5) years’ as UH-60M MTP.
Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:
Successfully pass Second Class FAA medical examination prior to hire. Maintain medical qualification.
Proficient in MS Office software.
Proficient in the use of interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Possess a valid issued driver’s license.
