Job Description

Scope:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will support the organization with a focus on employee relations, employee development, and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for investigations, and conflict resolution. The HRBP will assist with employee training and development, and partner with management on effective issuance of progressive discipline and performance management actions.
This position may also be directly aligned with a business unit, providing HR generalist expertise to a large employee base across one or more contracts, CONUS and/or OCONUS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and interprets policy and procedure, disciplinary process and provides employee relation support to management staff.
Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
Perform and document investigations, seek legal counsel when applicable, make recommendations to management team
Provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws
Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations.
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Assists with administration and processing of terminations.
Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
Assists or prepares correspondence.
Conducts exit interviews and analyzes trends.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred, or related field, with 5+ years of experience in HR
Strong government contracting experience is required.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency with computer, MS office products and common office equipment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus (Writing, Reading and Speaking).
Problem solving—identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
High level of discretion—maintains confidentiality and sensitivity regarding all HR matters.
Oral communication—speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and may conduct orientations.
Written Communication—attention to detail for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively.
Planning/organizing—prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Preferred Qualifications
Current Human Resources certifications
Experience with Workday

Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15lbs.
