Virtualization Administrator Senior
Full Time: IT
Vandenberg AFB, CA 93437

Essential Functions
•Build, configure and maintain VMware clients, servers, and architecture and provide hands on support for virtualization environment.
•Develop process and procedures for administering and supporting the new virtualization environment
•Oversee subcontractors and vendors performing installations and configurations and coordinate the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
•Collaborate with internal project team, system engineers and vendors to design and implement a new virtualization environment for the space launch ranges and migrate existing systems into the virtualization environment

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or related field
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with the following:
•Administering VMware VSphere, VMware Horizons, Blade servers and Storage arrays
•Administration of Microsoft environments including windows server, Domain administration and SCCM
•Administration of enterprise Linux environments

Experience in the following preferred:
•Complex IT environments which incorporate tradition and non-traditional IT services
•Administering server environments and supporting mission critical IT infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment
•Transitioning organizations from standalone to virtualized environments
•System security and best practices
•Complex, multivendor networking environment
•Supporting enterprise datacenter hardware including Cisco flexpods and Dell VXRail

Preferred certifications include VCP, MCSE/MCSA, RHSCA/RHCE and/or CCNA/CCNP
Familiarity with DISA STIGs preferred
Ability to lift 30 lbs.
Current Security+ or DoD 8570 Certification or ability to obtain certification within six months hire
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
