Summary
Under direction of the AVP Lending Experience, the Lending Center Manager is responsible for efficiently supervising the daily operations and activities of the Lending Center and its staff. The Lending Center Manager coaches the Lending Specialists to achieve department and Credit Union goals.

Essential Functions

Supervises the Lending Center’s daily operations and assigned staff.
Supervises loan queues, member relationship building, and lending campaigns to help grow core membership.
Accountable for the attainment of Lending Center goals and operational compliance.
Oversees the training and development of the Lending Center staff, ensures that it is ongoing and produces results.
Plans, manages, directs, organizes, and coordinates the sales and operational activities of the Lending Center, including cross selling, member service, quality, safety and security control.
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
Regularly schedules and conducts department meetings to inform employees of Credit Union goals, promotions, products, services, and activities and to encourage participation and open communication.
Fosters an entrepreneurial environment that allows each employee to achieve sales and service goals.
Manages vendor relationships to effectively address business requirements.
Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that lending center loans are properly processed, booked, and funded in a timely manner.
Reviews and revises loan applications and documents for regulatory compliance and conformance to established loan policies.
Actively participates in project implementation, including attending project team meetings, managing assigned projects, and completing project deliverables.
Identifies opportunities to refer members to other departments that can offer solutions to their financial planning, loan, or depositary needs.
Actively participates in various community organizations and events to promote the image of the Credit Union. Such activity is reported to incumbent’s supervisor monthly.
Resolves complex member complaints, card related issues, loan issues and errors
Compiles and analyzes sales, ROI, and production reports for leadership, making recommendations for changes and introducing new lending initiatives to help achieve overall lending and deposit goals.
Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after
normal business hours.

Sales Responsibilities
Responsible for attaining sales goals as set forth by Senior Management.
In coordination with the AVP Lending Experience, establishes and monitors employee sales and production goals.
Regularly coaches and reviews sales activities of Lending Specialists in all categories. Conducts role-playing with staff that need performance improvement in the promotion of Credit Union products.
Trains, directs, and supervises Lending Specialists in CUNA Mutual’s Lender Development Program by ensuring that the Five Action Steps and the mandatory quoting process of Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Debt Cancellation, and Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) is being followed.
Responsible for following the CUNA Mutual Lender Development Program, following the Five Actions Steps and the mandatory quoting process of GAP, Debt Cancellation, and MBI during the loan application and funding processes.
Trains Lending Specialists on phone sales strategies and cross-selling strategies.
Directly supervises outbound sales, refinance, and recapture campaigns.
Ability to performs all duties and essential functions of all levels of Lending Specialists.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment and ensuring appropriate supplies are ordered.
Presents a professional image and interacts well with public and all levels of Credit Union personnel.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training and various job-related meetings.

Supervisory Functions
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Credit Union policies and applicable laws.
Prepares schedules for assigned staff for a variety of work shifts, ensuring that breaks and meals are taken to ensure staffing levels are always sufficient.
Provides leadership and supervises daily activities.
Implements, trains, and develops staff on company policies and procedures to maintain excellent member Relations.
Human Resources responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, assigning and directing work, scheduling, verifying employee time records, motivating, coaching, reviewing and evaluating employee performance, rewarding, disciplining, up to and including termination of employment.
Talks with employees and members, answers questions, addresses complaints, and resolves situations while using good judgment and instilling good will.
Regularly schedules and conducts department meetings to inform employees of credit union goals, promotions, products, services, and activities and to encourage participation and open communication.
Ensures the safety and security of employees and credit union equipment and property, including cleanliness, proper maintenance, and safe work practices.
Follows policies and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) to ensure daily compliance with current regulations.
Responsible for ensuring all assigned employees are trained and adhere to all BSA, AML and CIP policies and procedures.
Able to work evenings and weekends, and to be on-call as needed.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training and various job-related meetings.
Performs duties as assigned by management and may be assigned to work at any branch.

Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education and Experience
A college degree or equivalent knowledge of branch operational and loan activities and understanding of sales strategies and lending practices as would normally be acquired from 5 + years of increasingly responsible experience in a managerial position within a financial institution.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
None.

Knowledge
Branch operational activities and basic understanding of lending practices and policies.
Knowledge of consumer lending area, including processing and funding.
Knowledge of mortgage lending area, including processing of applications.
Knowledge of VISA products and services, including application processing and ScoreCard program,
Credit Union products, services, programs and promotions.

Other Skills and Abilities
Performs duties accurately and efficiently, even with frequent interruptions.
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Travels, attends, and participates in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.
