Summary
Under the direction of the EVP Chief Financial Officer, oversees all strategic finance tasks and ensures Credit Union financial plans are carried out. Leads asset and liability management, product and business unit profitability, budgeting and forecasting, loan and investment portfolio risk analysis, and project finance functions. Leads annual budget process. Manages insurance program and interactions with brokers and legal team. Develops and implements strategies to accomplish Credit Union business objectives and performance expectations. Provides relevant and insightful analysis in achieving strategic goals.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the functions of the Finance Department and providing advisory services and implementation of the Credit Union’s business strategies.
Leads the annual budget and ongoing financial projections process. Provides trend analysis of past results and forecasts for income and expenses.
Performs complex analysis and modeling to enhance profitability and asset growth and manage credit and operating losses and other risk exposures.
Performs cost benefit analysis for new products and services, portfolio acquisitions, and M&A opportunities.
Provides trend insights and value-added risk analysis on portfolio risk and economic drivers of performance.
Develops dashboards to highlight key performance trends and drivers of profitability and loss.
Keeps informed of changes in economic or market conditions that might affect credit risk and monitors industry and systemic risks that might impact the Credit Union.
Develops to extract data and manipulates databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.
Leader for variety of internal projects; creates project requirements, tracks deliverables, and ensures timely completion of project phases.
Maintains current knowledge of and complies with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, as well as current events that impact on Credit Union products, services, and operations.
Participates in Leadership Team activities, Board of Director meetings, Board committee meetings, and strategic planning on an as needed basis.

Supervisory Functions
Effectively directs and supervises assigned employees, ensuring optimal performance.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Credit Union policies and applicable laws.
Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, employee selection, training, coaching and discipline. Verifies employee time records and employee performance. Motivates, coaches and evaluates assigned employees’ performance.
Establishes an environment that promotes teamwork and eliminates barriers to effectively working within the Department and across the Credit Union organizational structure.
Regularly schedules and conducts Department meetings to keep employees current on Credit Union goals, promotions, products, services, and activities. Encourages participation and open communication.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, etc.) is required.
MBA or Master’s degree in quantitative field is preferred.
7+ years increasingly responsible experience in the financial services industry.
Exceptional analytical and technological skills.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
CFA, CPA, or similar Certificate is preferred.

Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of current and approved methodologies of credit and interest rate risk measurement.
MS Office (Excel, Word), other software needed to effectively perform job.
Experience using SQL to extract data.
Experience with data visualization software is a plus.
Credit Union products, services, programs, and promotions.

Develops and encourages cooperation and teamwork among employees.
Possesses skills in directing, coaching, motivating, delegating, evaluating, and counseling assigned employees.
Knowledge and experience in promoting teamwork and eliminating barriers to effectively working within the Department and across the Credit Union organizational structure.

Other Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
