Summary
Under the direction of the Lending Experience Manager, the Lending Specialist is responsible for performing a wide variety of functions, including but not limited to processing lending transaction requests, processing account changes, and cross-selling Credit Union products and services. Has frequent interaction with members and employees in other departments of the Credit Union.

Essential Functions

Prepares and processes loan-related transaction requests by telephone and mail.
Receives inbound calls and makes outbound calls to initiate and process new loans and cross-sell products from new and existing members for all loan types.
Prepares authorized account changes.
Proactively responds to members’ inquiries and requests using product knowledge and CBR reports.
Assists in completing forms and documents.
Resolves member problems and concerns in a timely manner.
Assists in training and coaching new employees in the Department.
Actively explains, promotes, and cross sells Credit Union services, products, and programs for consumer, business, Wealth Management, and all other lines of business.
Meets production standards established by the Credit Union.
Accurately operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Thoroughly understands features and benefits of GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) MBI (Mechanical
Breakdown Insurance) and Debt Cancellation (Life, Unemployment, Disability).
Promotes, quotes and sells GAP, MBI, and Debt Cancellation during the loan application and funding process to penetration levels set forth by the Credit Union.
Assists members in identifying loan products and follows loan application procedures.
Performs advanced problem resolution and account adjustments.
Identifies and refers new business members and accounts to Business Services.
Mines credit reports to identify opportunities and cross-sell additional loan and ancillary products for consumers, real estate and business.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training.
Performs duties as assigned by management and may be assigned to work at any location.

Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education and Experience
Minimum of six months of lending and cross-selling experience desired.
Successful completion of pre-employment testing.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Must be registered and in good standing with NMLS and renew registration each year.

Knowledge
Branch operational activities and basic understanding of lending practices and policies.
Knowledge of consumer lending and mortgage lending, including processing and funding.
Knowledge of VISA products and services, including application processing and ScoreCard program.
Credit Union products, services, programs and promotions.

Other Skills and Abilities
Performs duties accurately and efficiently, even with frequent interruptions.
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Travels, attends, and participates in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekend
