Summary
The IT Specialist (Share Point) would: Diagnose and resolve the most complex OEM website applications, apply and adapt new and improved approaches to the design, development and implementation of OEM website applications, and Design and develop streamlined emergency action plan applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following:
In coordination with OEM and the Department IT, maintain an AngularJS based OEM SharePoint hosted website and other SharePoint collaboration applications
Design, develop, and manage business process software applications utilizing Share Point Design, that meet current and future business requirements and apply and extend or optimize the existing architecture
Analyze critical OEM IT systems issues for which state-of-the-art solutions are not readily apparent, formulate program objectives, strategies, and plans that respond to operational needs. Further determine new and innovative approaches to solve IT problems
Apply a wide range of software development and data science methods to produce analytical tools and solutions that will provide data and analytic results at users in identifying and resolving complex IT issues
Provide day-to-day desktop support for Emergency Action Plans and OEM website requiring a substantial depth of analysis
Support a variety of hardware platforms and software applications involving critical emergency management issues that have Department-wide impact. Interact with other Departmental agencies’ computer experts to ensure full intra networking and system compatibility
Support and coordinate with Plans, Policy, Outreach, Training and Exercises, and Emergency Management Center teams on critical emergency management projects and tasks
Conceive of solutions to highly complex IT issues relative to emergency planning
Oversee the analysis and compilation of a wide range of information and data concerning OEM program goals and accomplishments
Support a variety of hardware platforms and software applications
Train staff to develop staff self-sufficiency on SharePoint
Development of data analytics dashboards
Develop streamlined emergency action plan applications consistent with SharePoint Online
Enhance OEM website consistent with SharePoint Online
Enhance OEM staff collaboration sites consistent with SharePoint Online
Develop business process workflows consistent with SharePoint Online such as Task Tracker tool, Purchase Approvals, Clearance Approvals, etc.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Active SECRET Clearance.
Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
Expert knowledge of IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to OEM management and technical specialists on complex IT issues relating to critical emergency planning and preparedness activities
Expert knowledge of project management concepts, methodology, principles, and practices in order to ensure effective coordination, timely completion and high quality of assigned projects within funding constraints, and in compliance with contractual requirements
Skill in written and oral communications to prepare and deliver technically expert and persuasive position papers, recommendations, and assessments of complex IT project issues
Ability to plan, organize and manage OEM website projects to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities including making efficient use of available resources
Knowledge of MS SharePoint development and maintenance
Knowledge of AngularJS JavaScript (IT specialist)
Knowledge of MS Office Suite products

Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th and going forward. Prospective employees will fall under this requirement and proof of vaccination will be required for on-boarding, should you be selected. Limited exemptions for religious or medical reasons will be considered.

Temporary Note: On Tuesday, Dec. 7, a federal judge issued an injunction blocking President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors (EO 14042). Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate, however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.

Work Environment
