Summary
Provides Transportation policy changes and program oversight. Directs action to correct or provide management information for all Transportation requirements. Establishes and maintains the DHA Transportation Management Program, serves as a liaison between the DHA Transportation Manager, GSA, and other activities for all unit government motor vehicle matters. Control the DHA vehicles and obtain transportation services required to support the DHA mission requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support the DHA Transportation Manager in the following:
Conducting data calls and consolidates information as it relates to the vehicles that are assigned at each activity
Conduct quality assurance for all requests in the customer acquisition module of GSA Drive-Thru for final approval of the DHA Fleet Manager.
Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis on different aspects of fleet management and provides consolidated results to the DHA Fleet Manager.
Creates slides, conducts data calls, and drafts documents that are related to Fleet and Freight Management and submit to DHA Fleet Manager for final approval.
Provide guidance and respond to customer inquiries on appropriate measures to take as they relate to Non-Tactical Government vehicles.
Consolidate the data collected from the annual justification surveys for all DHA vehicles.
Provide oversight and respond to customer inquiries on DHA fleet information systems, this includes dispatching of vehicles, coordination for maintenance services, and capturing costs associated with leasing, fuel, and maintenance.
Consolidates, prepares and provides required reports as required by the DHA Fleet Manager.
Monitors and develops correspondence for the Vehicle Allocation Methodology (VAM) survey serves as the point of contact for all inquiries for survey related questions.
Reviews and provides input on the DHA optimum fleet size by using an annual Vehicle Allocation Methodology and Vehicle Utilization Review Board (VURB) by creating charts, graphs, and white papers.
Monitors and manages all DHA Owned or Commercially Leased (non-GSA) vehicles by using Fleet Management software and systems.
Works directly with resource management to ensure that all Speed Pay account information is populated with a line of accounting to pay for DHA vehicles annually
Developing, implementing, and improving transportation policies and procedures.
Collaborating with internal departments to optimize transportation services.
Handling customer queries and resolving complaints in a timely manner.
Complying with transportation regulations and company policies.
Create step by step procedures/job aids for all transportation systems and place on SharePoint
Maintain Transportation SharePoint site
Serve as the Fleet Management customer service Point of contact for DHA

Supervisory/Management Authority
No supervisory or management authority.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, project management, or similar preferred.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to multitask between multiple simultaneous efforts and requirements on a daily basis
Strong attention to detail and accuracy for compliant and complete reports, documentation and data entry tasks.
Active CAC
Valid Driver’s License.
In-depth knowledge of transportation industry regulations.
Proficiency in transportation management software.
Superb leadership and interpersonal skills.

Great communication and collaboration skills.

Willingness to provide operational support outside of business hours.
Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (i.e., Moderna or Pfizer) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson). As a prospective employee, you will fall under this requirement and proof of vaccination will be needed for on-boarding, should you be selected. When you originally applied to our position posting, this necessity may not have yet been implemented. Limited exemptions for religious or medical reasons will be considered. TEMPORARY NOTE: On Tuesday, Dec. 7, a federal judge issued an injunction blocking President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors. Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.
