Jr. Network Engineer
Location: Artesia, NM 88201
Duties and Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the installation, troubleshooting and repair of data network hardware and related software in support of a mid-size to large LAN/WAN enterprise environment, both with and without instruction or supervision.
Will provide day-to-day operational and after hours support of IT infrastructure, including scheduled maintenance when required.
Candidate will also be responsible for completing project driven tasking in a timely and efficient manner, and as directed by Sr. Engineers and Project Manager.
Experience in IT support relating to desktop, server, network or highly technical hardware and software as a field technician or desktop analyst role. Preference given to experience in network support related to configuration and troubleshooting network hardware and software products, to include routers, switches, wireless and network firewalls.
Familiar with network diagramming (technical drawing or writing).
Familiar with network monitoring tools and protocols, such as packet captures, console connectivity and communication establishment.
Excellent organizational, communication and customer support skills mandatory.
Ability to follow strict direction and uphold integrity of established processes without deviation, but able to adjust to changing requirements when directed by proper chain of command.
Competitive Edge Qualifications:
Cisco certification CCNA R&S and/or extensive prior direct experience in Government or DoD networks or tactical environments.
Demonstrates outstanding customer support, interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills through awards and special recognition.
Minimum of High School Diploma and one of the following:
Technical certification (CCENT or Network+) with 1 year direct experience OR 3 years experience in desktop/field technician and willing to pursue and obtain CCENT within 6 months of hire.
A combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for the requirements listed.
