Job Description
The Physician is responsible for the medical services to children in an on-site children’s residential facility. Provides for services during an assessment, intake and daily medical needs of the children during their stay at the facility. They ensure contractual requirements and client expectations are met at the on-site residential facility. Reports to the Medical Director.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.

Location:  El Paso, TX area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with routine and daily medical needs of the children.
Completes medical screening within 48 hours of an entrance to a residential facility.
Refer the children as needed to specialist or hospital ER.
Screens for TB and other contagious diseases.
Recommends appropriate isolation as needed to protect the health of the child and others.
Screens for pregnancy.
Oversees or administers vaccinations.
Orders X-Ray for additional screening and reviews for possible outside referral.
Provides prescriptions for youth as needed.
Coordinates with Pharmacist.
Coordinates with mental health providers and case managers.
Maintains documentation in the child’s file and on a database according to policies and procedures.
Provides oversight and supervision of medical staff.
Provides On-Call services as assigned.
Provides assistance over the phone within 15 minutes or responds in person upon request within a reasonable amount of time.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Other Duties:
Performs duties in a safe manner.
Follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
Identifies "close call" and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Assist in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations standards.

Job Requirements
Fully unencumbered, ABMS Board certified Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine physician licensed to practice medicine.
Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write and Speak).
Hold an active, valid and unrestricted license in the State of service.
5 years of experience in pediatrics or adolescent medicine.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
Proficiency with computer especially Microsoft Office products.
Clean criminal background check.
Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) or child protective services check.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience with emergency medicine.
2 years of Project Management or operations experience.

Physical Requirements:
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with the weather (rain, heat, lightning, and winds).
Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
