Under general supervision of the Collections Manager, a Collection Officer is responsible for performing a wide variety of member Collections duties.

Some of the responsibilities are;
• Contacts member through various methods to determine reason for delinquency.
• Negotiates and establishes repayment process or extension of credit with members.
• Researches account loan transactions to resolve payment errors.
• Uses method of skip tracing to locate either member or property.
• Responds to members’ inquiries, request and assist in completing documents.
• Evaluates credit lines for potential closure.
• Researches account loan transactions to resolve payment errors.
• Tracks collateral protection insurance ensuring member has complied with credit union requirements.

Some of the requirements of the job are;
• Loan/Lending experience in a Financial Institution is preferred, but not required.
• A high school diploma or its equivalent, with minimum 6 months experience in collections or a related area.
• Experience with computer systems and software.
• Punctual and regular attendance.
• Ability to be bonded.
