The Lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all pool guests as well as enforcing all pool rules and regulations. Daily responsibilities will be to ensure the safety of all pool guests, monitoring guests in and out of the pool, correcting unsafe behaviors, and keeping a clean work area. The lifeguard position will report to Youth Care Supervisor.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains constant surveillance of guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of guests in the event of an emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Performs duties in a safe manner.
Follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
Ensures safe operating conditions within an area of responsibility.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area
Fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write)
21 years of age
Clean Background Check
Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check (CAN)
Must have a current Red Cross lifeguard certification
Must know how to swim
Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
Must be quick on their feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly
Must be a service minded individual with a positive attitude who truly enjoys helping others.
1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to ascend/descend stairs
Ability to push, pull, carry or lift up to 50lbs.
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, heat, lightning, and winds)
Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
