Guardian is seeking a sales representative for an energy business that sells and supports fuel systems for convenience retailers. The company focus is comprehensive services coupled with value-added distribution of petroleum equipment from leading global manufacturers. The company is one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. with 350+ employees. The successful candidate will participate in a comprehensive training program. The outside sales representative role requires some travel to the surrounding designated areas but is based in our Charlotte, NC branch office.

Essential Job Functions:
Able to develop a high level of expertise regarding product lines, payment options and industry regulations
Develop proposals, interface with vendors and customers to promote the company
Display and/or demonstrate products and services; increase customer awareness of GFT’s products and services including equipment, repair & maintenance services, and installation.
Work in a team-oriented environment that requires working and communicating positively and professionally with fellow employees, customers, and vendors
Provide superior customer service, investigate and resolve customer concerns.
Manage assigned territory, by phone and in-person visits, develop and maintain relationships
Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions, including GFT Safety requirements


Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree REQUIRED (Including recent college graduates)
Industry experience is a PLUS!
Consultative selling skills and/or a proven track record of success is desirable
Exemplary communication and presentation skills
Basic mechanical and IT aptitude is a plus
Self-motivated and able to work with little direction on a daily basis
Ability to manage projects effectively, strong organizational skills
Must possess and maintain a safe driving record with valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Comprehensive training program to develop industry knowledge
Develop key relationships with owners and operators of energy companies.
Create compelling sales proposals
Responsible for the generation of new business in the Mid-Atlantic market through conventional sales strategies and will be selling integrated fuel systems to convenience store retailers and fuel marketers.
Point of sale (POS) and method of payment are key drivers in the business (Credit/Debit, Apple Pay and new developing technologies)

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position require driving, sitting, typing, talking on the phone, using a smart mobile device, use of a desktop computer, and walking/moving around a job site that may be located in a warehouse or outside.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position, M-F.

Local travel is required, with some overnight travel required (10-20%).
