The Town of Hempstead is seeking to hire an Animal Behavior Consultant

Why is this such a big deal?

In 2017 the town hired the least qualified person who was also the highest bidder and in spite of significant public objection. To date, no one from the town could ever explain why they chose the applicant they selected.

For 5+ years, advocates have voiced their continued concerns regarding injuries (sustained by staff, volunteers, the public and sometimes their pets).

FINALLY the Town is seeking bids for this crucial position.

As always, we have to give credit where credit is due. Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin it seems you are headed in a positive direction and for that, we are grateful. The key now will be in the hiring. We hope and pray the board will hire simply the best candidate.
