Job Description
We are looking for motivated and qualified CAT III, Chinese Mandarin or Russian linguists. You must possess the physical and mental capacity to function in a high operational tempo and in crisis situations supporting the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) (previously LION) in Northern Virginia. NMEC provides linguist translation and transcription, media and document exploitation, and related intelligence operations support services.

Requirements
Linguist Minimum Qualifications: 
Qualified applicants require TS/SCI clearance or higher
Score at minimum level 3/3/3/3 (Writing/ Reading/Listening/Speaking) in the target language and English as measured by the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), the US State Department's language test for the target language, or a certified equivalent (e.g. ALTA)
Able to conduct and prepare accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions, of general and technical material, consisting of hand or type written, audio, and/or video language material and documents in hard copy and electronic formats
Willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. area
Able to complete all work on time using correct syntax and expression in a manner that maintains the integrity and meaning of the material in both English and target language
Able to quickly scan and process a large amount of material in the target language for critical and essential elements of information
Competent to provide input to media exploitation team members in the production of written reports developed from target material, such as provide a gist (summarization of key points), summary, transcript or written translation of the material
Possess technical automated information system skills, such as word processing and data entry, the ability to use advanced language software programs, and the ability to participate in forensic processing
Willing and able to successfully complete a CI polygraph examination

Linguist Desired Qualifications:
Previous analytical experience
Personnel with multiple language capabilities
Current TS/SCI w/ counterintelligence or full-scope polygraph
Prior US military or intelligence backgrounds
US Military post-9/11 service period honorably discharged veterans
Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Legal, Medical, and Banking and Finance

Language Requirements
Fluent in English and one of the following target languages:
Chinese Mandarin
Koreans
Russian
Farsi
